The collection
We don’t throw them. We keep them.
Mug Mound is a personal collection of mugs, not a workshop. A bunch of them were thrown in a studio — somebody else’s. Some of those potters are known. Some aren’t. That doesn’t thin the charm. Other mugs never met a wheel at all, and they still deserve a number, a photo, and a story.

Why the stories
A mug without a story is easy to forget. We wanted the shop to feel like a personal collection: numbered, told, and still interesting after it sells. You should be able to point at a shelf and know which one missed a ferry and which one ended an argument with pie.
The thrown ones come from other hands. We number them and write down what we actually know. The found ones are taken in as they are: one mug, one photo, one story. If you already shop the Etsy store under this name, you are in the right place — this is the long version.
Questions people actually ask
Do you make the mugs?
No. There is no Mug Mound studio. Thrown pieces came from other artists — some well known, some not. When we know the potter’s name, it goes on the piece. When we don’t, we say another potter, and we don’t invent one. Found mugs were already themselves: vintage, printed, souvenir, cheerful. The story is about the mug. It is not a claim that we made it.
Do you sell on Etsy too?
Yes. Same name. Etsy is the shelf. This site is where each mug gets the longer telling, the number, and the story card.
What is the story card?
A small printed card with the mug’s name, number, and the short version of its story. It rides in every box. Gift wrap is separate if you want the outside to look like a present too.
How does payment work?
The last step is there, and it is switched off. No card is charged until payment is turned back on.
What if it arrives hurt?
Write us with a photo. One-of-a-kind means we cannot restock a feeling, but we will replace, repair, or refund if the box failed the mug.
