A personal collection, not a catalog

Mugs with a life before yours.

A collection, not a workshop. Some were thrown by other potters — a few names you might know, plenty you won't. Some were already a mug: vintage, printed, cheerful. We don't make them. Every one still gets the story of how it landed here.

On the mound now

Four worth sitting with

The Harbor Watch

No. 021 · Adventure · Potter and studio to be named.

The Harbor Watch

$78

A heron waited in the shallows. The glaze ran, and the white drip looked exactly like the foam at its feet.

Kiln Rash

No. 026 · Raw & Rash · Potter and studio to be named.

Kiln Rash

$82

The kiln that fired this one ran hot and a little mean. Ash crawled the rim and broke into iron. Another potter's accident, and a good one.

The Letter That Never Left

No. 014 · Vintage · Potter and studio to be named.

The Letter That Never Left

$72

A cream envelope turned up inside a teapot at a Saturday market, addressed and never stamped. We did not open it.

Sunday Kitchen

No. 019 · Everyday Joy · Potter and studio to be named.

Sunday Kitchen

$54

Radio low. Pancakes that went a little too far. Yellow like the counter before the day starts.

Also on the mound

Some never saw a potter’s wheel.

A rodeo tankard, a bee mug, a camp cup that already knew its sentence. Found pieces get a number and a story too. The handmade ones beside them were thrown by other artists.

Eight Seconds

No. 041 · Vintage · Found

Eight Seconds

$36

A bull and rider still in the air, a rope that never quite lands, and a crackle glaze that has already lived somewhere else.

Be Kind

No. 042 · Everyday Joy · Found

Be Kind

$28

Three bees, two words, and a yellow interior bright enough to count as a mood.

You Belong Here

No. 043 · Adventure · Found

You Belong Here

$28

A fire, a tent, a pine, and the sentence you belong here, printed like it had been waiting for a shelf.

Kiln Rash, a charcoal ash-glazed handmade mug

No. 026 · Raw & Rash

Kiln Rash

Someone else’s kiln ran hot. Ash crawled the rim and broke into iron. It could have been called a loss. It was the mug worth keeping.

This is the rash side of the mound: bare clay, accidents from another studio, pieces that refuse to be polite. The found shelf is different again. All of them are welcome. None of them were made by us.

Shelves

One of one

When a mug leaves, it leaves. We do not throw a second Harbor Watch to fill the hole.

A story card

Name, number, and the short telling, printed and tucked in the box. Gift wrap is optional. The card is not.

Raw and vintage

Some pieces are rash from the fire. Some feel like a flea-market morning. You can want both.

How a mug gets a story

The story is not a claim that we made the mug. It is why this one is on the mound.

From the collection

What ships in the box

The mug, a story card with its number, and packing that assumes it is the only one.

Mug Notes

A short letter when something new lands on the mound. Not a weekly blast. If you already know us from Etsy, this is where the longer stories live.

Also on Etsy

Same name. Same hands.

The Etsy shelf is there if you like to shop where you already are. The mound is where each mug gets a background — adventure, a happy kitchen, a raw firing, a vintage hush.
