The story
BE KIND, in plain letters, with three bees underneath doing the illustrating. The outside is white and peppered. The handle is black. The inside is the yellow of a good lemon.
Nobody at Mug Mound threw this. It came already employed: a counter mug, a reminder, a small crowd of bees. Other mugs here were handmade by other potters. This one earned a number by being exactly itself.
It is happy on purpose, which is allowed. One mug, the one in the photo. The story card in the box just repeats what the clay already said.
