Vintage, but not a copy of anyone’s china. The color came from a letter we found and left alone: cream paper, a rose stamp that had already faded, no postmark.
The mug is slightly wonky at the lip. Letters that never leave are slightly wonky too. They mean something and then they wait.
If you take it home, you are not buying the letter. You are buying the decision to let a small mystery stay shut.
